The 132 strong draw has been released for the men's Australian Open
qualifying. Top seed Dustin Brown begins his campaign for the main
draw with a first round meet against Bosnia's Damir
Džumhur. Džumhur is currently ranked 188 and won 3 futures titles
in 2013. Martin Klizen (2) faces former world 33 Andreas Beck in
which could be a tricky encounter for the Slovakian. The two has only
met once before (2011,Brazil) in which Beck won in straight sets.
David Goffin (3) should have a relatively smooth first round
encounter when he faces 22 year old Italian Lorenzo Giustino. Finally
4th seed
Denis Kudla begins against Britains Daniel Cox. This match could be closer
then ranking suggest (hopefully!) as Cox does have fighting spirit and
won five futures titles last year. There
are also two other British men in Qualifying. 26th
seed Dan Evans who made his way through qualifying last week in Qatar
faces lang-chi Huang whilst James ward faces Italian Andrea
Arnaboldi.
