In an article published today in
Sweden’s Svenska Dagbladet, Stefan Edberg said that there is a
“mutual interest in a partnership”. Yesterday I wrote about the
two training together in Dubai last week which fuelled the
speculation the Edberg could potentially become Federers new coach.
Edberg was also encourage to give Federer some of his own opinion
during last weeks session. Loosely translates from Eurosport.se he
said regarding last weeks training:-
"it was the idea of the camp that I would give my views and come up with some feedback. He wants to try some new things. Plus, we got time to know how we got on together. He is an amazing man both on and off the track and I have the utmost respect for him. “

Was
that so that Federer can see how Edberg works before he even think
about potentially hiring him? He also left the ball in Federer's
court by seemingly saying he is up for working with him if he was
asked. Only time will tell.
